Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing

Morning visit to Pashupatinath, a revered Hindu temple tracing its origins to 400 BC. Located on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River, its pagoda-style architecture pays homage to Lord Shiva. Have a private Vedic astrology chart reading performed by a local Hindu priest.

Continue to Kopan Monastery to engage in insightful conversations with resident monks and nuns, and experience a private guided meditation session. Day 3 Drive to Japre

Morning drive to Japre, where picturesque drive takes you through the beauty of the landscape along the river and gradually ascend into the clouds. Once you reach Japre, check into the lodge, and meet your Lama monk guide, who will accompany you along the trek to spiritual discourses and practises.

Day 4 Trek to Pikey Base Camp

Start the hike, ascending a grassy ridge that offers breathtaking views. Pass through forest trails, immersing yourself in nature's tranquillity until reaching Pikey Base Camp, where stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas await you. Proceed to Tolu Gompa, a sacred monastery that holds deep spiritual significance. Explore the monastery and immerse yourself in its serene ambience, connecting with the spiritual energy of the place.

Day 5 Trek to Serlo Monastery

Rise early and hike along the trail towards Pikey Peak base camp, aiming to catch the breathtaking sunrise. Weather permitting, the summit provides awe-inspiring panoramic views ranging from Annapurna to Kanchenjunga, with a glimpse of the majestic Mount Everest. Continue your journey along the trail, following the scenic ridgeline and traversing through forests until reaching Serlo Monastery. Perched atop Junbesi Village, this monastery is a prominent spiritual hub in the Phaplu region, dating back to the 1400s. It serves as a meditation centre, imparting Buddhist teachings to both monks and travellers.
The rest of the day can be spent exploring the area or enjoying leisurely activities. You have the opportunity to partake in a puja led by the monks, and special discourse and lectures, enriching your spiritual journey.

Day 6 Serlo Monastery

Spend the day living the life of a monk! Join the morning puja at the monastery and in spiritual discussions and meditation practices guided by resident monks, gaining insights into the life of a Buddhist monk in the mountains. In the afternoon, explore the surrounding monasteries and villages, delving into the cultural richness of the area. Take part in a private hour-long meditation session and embrace moments of contemplation, self-reflection, and connection with Buddhist traditions throughout the day. Day 7 Trek to Junbesi

Participate in the morning puja engage in a meditation session and embark on a full-day tour of the monasteries in the Junbesi area. Begin by visiting Junbesi Monastery, founded by His Holiness Trulsik Rinpoche in the 1960s as a sanctuary for Tibetan refugees. This independent and autonomous monastery is steeped in Tibetan Buddhist traditions. Next, explore Thupten Choling Monastery, an expansive complex resembling a small village with 500 nuns and monks living there. Its grandeur leaves a lasting impression, showcasing the rich spiritual heritage of the region. Take the opportunity to further explore the village at your own pace, immersing yourself in its unique charm and cultural nuances.

Day 8 Drive to Phaplu

Drive to Phaplu, taking a detour to Chiwong Monastery, established in 1923 by Sangey Lama community and is renowned for hosting the grand Mani Rimdup festival - a celebration shared by only three monasteries in all of Nepal. Join the monks for chanting, and have a private discourse with a resident monk for unique spiritual insights

Day 10 Fly to Kathmandu

Say goodbye to your Lama monk guide as you conclude your spiritual journey and return to Kathmandu. Flight schedules are weather-dependent; if unavailable, a 7-9 hour scenic drive back to Kathmandu will be the alternative.

Day 11 Kathmandu Sightseeing

Visit Bhaktapur at Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at ancient temples, intricately carved palaces, and the 55-Window Palace. A guided stroll through Bhaktapur's narrow lanes to explore traditional Newari architecture and learn about the city's fascinating past, from its medieval roots to the present day. Participate in a pottery class and get guidance from skilled artisans, to mould and shape clay, delving into the age-old craft that defines Bhaktapur's artistic heritage. Visit a local yoghurt factory and learn about the traditional process of producing Juju Dhau, Bhaktapur's famed sweet yoghurt.

Next, visit Boudhanath, Nepal's largest stupa and another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Participate in a private Solka Puja, a traditional prayer ceremony, conducted by the monks at Guru Lakhang Monastery. Experience the spiritual essence of Buddhism as you take part in pujas and engage in Kora, a meditative walk around the stupa. End the experience with a delicious farewell rooftop dinner overlooking the Boudhanath Stupa.
